 Dani Maslin is hoping for big things with Nottingham Forest after recently signing for the Premier League Northern Division club.The 17-year-old goalkeeper has joined from Lincoln City and she is looking forward to the challenge at her new club. "I made my debut against Aston Villa on Sunday," Dani told Women's Soccer Scene. "It was a really good game and such a big step up from the reserves at Lincoln. The level was a lot different but the girls at Forest are fantastic and have made we welcome." Whilst relishing playing for Forest, Dani admits that it was also a wrench to move from the Lady Imps. "It was hard to leave Lincoln," she says, "but with Nicola Hobbs being as good as she is, it was going to be very difficult for me to break into the first team. Their manager Rod Wilson told me that I deserved better football and advised me to sign for Forest, but it wasn't easy as I have a lot of friends there." Dani's arrival coincides with a good run of form for Forest, who are back in the top half of the Northern Division table. "They are expecting to climb a few more places," says Dani. "If a few results go our way, then we can still challenge for promotion so it is important to keep going." This Sunday, Dani is set to play her second match for Forest and it will be one of the toughest tasks of all, against Charlton Athletic in the F.A.Women's Cup. "I'm really looking forward to it, a bit nervous but it will be good," she says. "It is going to be a big challenge but if I want to play top flight football, it is the type of game I must prove myself in. It will be a good experience to play against Charlton. "Lincoln played Charlton in the League Cup earlier this season and I was on the bench for that game, so I do have experience of watching them before. Their forward line of Natasha Dowie and Eniola Aluko were tearing the back four apart but Lincoln gave it their best shot on the day, and that is what we will do on Sunday - all the girls are really focused for it." Looking beyond Sunday's match, Dani is ambitious for both herself and her club. "I hope to help Forest climb the league table whilst maintaining my position in the side," she says. "I would also like to get back into the international fold - I have been to England under-17 training camps and was on standby for their match against Switzerland. "We have some really good players at Forest - Beth Bailey is a fantastic player in midfield and Natalie Clarke scored two goals and looked good up front. I also think that the back four is okay, even though I haven't learned their names yet! "When Forest came in for me, I gave it a lot of thought and Lincoln were very helpful. Lisa Dawkins, the Forest manager, is really nice and has helped me to fit in with the players so hopefully we can all help each other."
